Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center and Baku State Vocational Education Center for Industry and Innovation to Cooperate

The Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center (AKM), operating under the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, has signed a cooperation agreement with the Baku State Vocational Education Center for Industry and Innovation within the framework of the “Brain Center” project.

Under this agreement, the following activities will be implemented by AKM at the Vocational Education Center:

  • The syllabuses of subjects related to information and communication technologies, information security, and cybersecurity will be evaluated, new topics will be proposed, and updates will be made to meet modern requirements.
  • Various seminars and training sessions on computer systems programming, information and communication technologies, and cybersecurity will be organized for teachers and students.
  • Some students will undertake industrial internships at the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center, and opportunities for this process will be explored.
  • AKM specialists will conduct both in-person and online lectures and seminars for students, and in necessary cases, experts will be involved in the teaching process as instructors.
  • AKM specialists and Agency staff will participate in practical lessons, providing students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
  • If the Center’s laboratory resources are insufficient, practical training will be conducted using AKM’s resources.
  • As part of AKM’s cooperation with Israel’s “Technion” Development and Research Fund, credits for relevant courses taken by students in the training program will be recognized.
  • Support will be provided for the establishment of “Cyber Clubs” at educational institutions where students study, along with the preparation of activity plans for these clubs.

It is worth noting that the “Brain Center” project aims to enhance human capital in the field of cybersecurity through education and professional training. The project seeks to integrate the latest global trends and modern developments in cybersecurity into the educational process in collaboration with higher education and vocational institutions. Additionally, modern training equipment is installed, virtual laboratories are established, and opportunities for students to gain professional experience are provided. Within the project, “Cyber Clubs” are also established at universities, labor market demands are analyzed, and this knowledge is adapted to the educational curriculum.
