The “Openwave” Open Innovation Hackathon, implemented within the framework of cooperation between the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDDA) and the Narimanov District Executive Authority of Baku City, has been successfully completed.
“Openwave” was organized to strengthen the technology and entrepreneurship skills of young people, as well as to contribute to the development of cooperation between government institutions and young innovators. The hackathon promoted the development of an innovation environment within public institutions and encouraged the joint use of the potential of startups and individual talents in this process.
Within the hackathon, 15 selected teams presented digital solutions and functional prototypes aimed at optimizing governance in the Narimanov district. Participants developed projects based on assigned relevant topics, proposing mechanisms focused on solving real public issues and facilitating the work of relevant institutions. The projects mainly covered priority areas such as digitalization of accountability in territorial governance, improvement of оператив communication mechanisms with citizens, and automated registration of infrastructure problems.
In the next stage, teams presented their solutions to a jury panel. As a result, winners were determined from a total prize fund of 10,000 AZN:
1st place (5,000 AZN): “Digi Solution” team
2nd place (3,000 AZN): “ExaMinds” team
